XN974 Anti-det run

What an amazing weekend! XN974 flew into Yorkshire Air Museum in 1991 where she has been kept in ground running condition. On the 23rd September she awoke from around 18 months of silence with two runs. The engine run showed the fantastic bond that Graham and Scott have. This was Scott’s first run-up in the […]

Friends of Barton Aerodrome Fly-in

Friends of Barton Aerodrome (FoBA) hosted their 2023 fly-in during the first weekend of June. This was the first fly-in after the airport’s rebranding from City Airport Manchester back to the original name of Barton Aerodrome and over 300 movements were made over the course of the Saturday. Considering the noises made on social media […]

City Airport Manchester (Barton Aerodrome)

Barton holds a special place in my heart, it was the airfield where I had my first flying lesson and also a place where I spend a lot time honing my aviation photography skills. These are a selection of my favourite shots from Barton including the North West Air Ambulance, Mainair Flying School, and LAC […]

RAF Wittering Harriers

Back in April 2022 I attended a shoot with the RAF Wittering Heritage Centre that was organised by the Centre of Aviation Photography. This was a fantastic opportunity to see four Harriers up close and personal with reenactors. The colours of the sky were perfect, and a fantastic lineup was created under the expert direction […]

T-346A of the Aeronautica Militare

This started life as a shot from RIAT, then with some help from the COAP Online Photoshop free and VIP sessions, I created this. I’ve been using Affinity Photo for a while now and was delighted to apply some of my Photoshop skills to Affinity Photo. It was pretty enjoyable to be creative with the […]

Auster and Chipmunk – Gipsy Majors

These are a mix of shots of the DeHavilland Chipmunk and Auster aircraft. One is a low wing and the other is a high wing aircraft but both are powered by the same DeHavilland Gipsy Major engine. These shots were taken in a mix of nigh shoots, base visits, and air shows.

RIAT – Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey

The Osprey, first flown on 19 March 1989 and introduced to the US Air Force on 13 June 2007, is a remarkable aircraft. Its unique design supports vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities. This particular example is flown by 352nd SOW, 7th SOS at RAF Mildenhall and displayed at the […]

RAF Museum Cosford Competition

I and Wayne Kenward of High ‘n’ Dry Photography visited RAF Museum Cosford back in November 2021. The original aim was to attend a Threshold.Aero shoot which got cancelled due to high winds. So, we decided to have a visit to the museum but give ourselves a brief, or “purpose” if you will. The brief […]

RIAT – Airbus Beluga

The first UK airshow appearance of a new Airbus Beluga XL. The heavy airlifter is based on the A330 aircraft and supersedes the previous A300 based Beluga.

Sea Harrier – Jet Art Aviation

The Harrier, a fascinating aircraft that was like no other. The Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine powers 4 variable angle nozzles that allow the Harrier to achieve its party trick: A fixed-wing aircraft that can stop in mid-air. This example is being sold by Jet Art Aviation and I had to opportunity to it photograph with the […]
